LSOC - An Artist Among Us… March 10th, 2010

oc-es-aa-library.jpgThe Life Oak Cliff Elmentary Library sponsored an African American History activity featuring Life school employees. Since we have such a wealth of gifted and talented staff members here at Life, the Librarian decided to center her activities around them for the month of February.

Mrs. Martindale presented “A Dramatic Interpretation of African American Poetry” featuring Mrs. Yutease Warren, Life School OC First Grade Instructional Aide.

LSOC - “Message in Our Music” March 9th, 2010

oc-african-american-assembly-22510-elem-and-secondary-079.jpgLife School Oak Cliff middle and secondary students collaborated to create and present an African American History program for their campus on Thursday, February 25. Faculty members encouraged students to use their leadership abilities to create a program that would educate and strengthen their peers and the community. Great leadership ability was demonstrated as students worked in groups that focused on the influence of music on African Americans throughout American history.

LSOC Theatre Arts Students Visit Dallas Museum of Art March 8th, 2010

theater-arts-the-dma.jpgThe Theatre Arts classes went to the Dallas Museum of Art to view the exhibit named “All the World’s a Stage.” Students were able to view performance art, costumes, and music from cultures all over the world and from ancient times to present. There were some 3-D music, dance, and abstract inspirational pieces that were especially enjoyable to students. Some students commented on the visit.
