On Friday, May 21st and 22nd the freshman class at Life School Red Oak conducted a food drive.  They took the donated cans to the North Texas Food Bank.  There, the students boxed up cans and other food items.  Everyone had a wonderful time and many students remarked that they were interested in volunteering during the summer months.   It was exciting to see students enthusiastic about helping others in our community.

 The first annual Race for Education was a huge success! Students had fun and enjoyed the benefits of physical activities, and the fundraiser benefited the school.  As of May 16th, over $55,000 have been collected in donations, with collections continuing through the end of the school year!  With this level of success, PTO is looking forward to making the “Race for Education” an ongoing tradition at Life School Red Oak.

An annual spring event on the campus is College Week. During the week of May 5th, elementary students watched college videos and participated in dialogue with faculty about teacher college experiences during their lunch break. The seventh through ninth grade students competed daily to win a spirit stick, with the winners receiving the honor of performing at the pep rally at the end of the week.
