Reader's Corner
Peter and the Starcatchers
January 14th, 2009
If you are needing a good book for the holiday, I found you one. Peter and the Starcatchers written by Dav Berry and Ridley Pearson is a phenomenal prequel story to Peter Pan. These two guys got together with their own children in mind and made up the whole story of how Peter Pan became Peter Pan. They go all the way back to before Wendy was even born and before Captain Hook lost his arm-his name was Black Stache. For an exciting read, pick it up and try! You’ll get “hooked” and want to read the whole 3 book series!
The Pigeon Wants a Puppy!
October 7th, 2008
Can you believe that Christmas is coming in December this year? That’s what my pocketbook says each year as we round the corner into Fall. It always feels like a shock! My kids have already made their lists and are letting me know why they “need” all those things on their list. So, when I read, “The Pigeon Wants a Puppy!” by Mo Willems, I could not help but think of my three bright-eyed wonders. As a parent, you need to read this book during this coming season and have a good laugh! It’s all about what we think we want. Enjoy a good book with your dreamer!
