Life School Announces the New Emergency Messaging System January 19th, 2012

high res logo clear background copy 300x279 Life School Announces the New Emergency Messaging SystemLife School is proud to announce the implementation of a new messaging system to provide information on school closings and emergencies to our parents through means such as telephone calls, SMS text messages and emails. The SchoolMessenger system is used by school districts across Texas and the United States to provide a fast and efficient delivery system of this important information to our parents. According to Life School Executive Superintendent Brent Wilson, “Parent communication is extremely important to Life School.  We are excited to implement this solution to help increase communication to our parents when school closings or emergencies occur.”

On Saturday, January 21st at 1:00 p.m., Life School will conduct a test of the new SchoolMessenger system. A test phone call and email will be sent to our parents.  Also, a SMS text message will also be sent to parents giving them the opportunity to opt-in to the SMS text message service. To receive these messages, text the word “yes” to “68453.” Standard phone carrier rates may apply.  Please note, if you do not opt-in to use this service, you will only receive email and phone messages from the SchoolMessenger system.

Since the contact information for this system is taken from our student information database, it is important for parents to keep their contact information updated with their campus office. If you do not receive the test messages, please update your contact information by completing the “Change of Address and Phone Number” form contained in the link below and return it to the school office or classroom teacher.

The SchoolMessenger communication system is yet another way Life School is continuing to increase and improve communication with our parents.

Life School’s First W.A.T.C.H. DOG Dad January 17th, 2012

LSCH2 300x195 Life Schools First W.A.T.C.H. DOG DadMr. Alan Beavers is our very first LSCH WATCH D.0.G.S. member to volunteer.  It’s been a great kickoff to our new program; which is to get more men involved with our educational process and
encouraging our scholars. Mr. Beavers has served 2 full days this week.  Educators and our scholars loved having Mr. Beavers on campus and participating in all areas of the day.

He began his days with traffic duties, moved to reading with students, monitoring work, supporting classroom teachers during instruction, enjoyed recess, lunch, gym time and continued to finish out the
days with advising students, monitoring hallways and assisting with dismissal of students.  Whew!  What a full two days he put in and looked like a Pro!  We are looking forward to two more WATCH
D.O.G.S. joining our ranks next week.  Each dad volunteers a full day to assist educators, scholars, and office personnel; while also spending some valuable time with their own child during the day.

If you are not a WATCH D.O.G., please see Mrs. Wallis or Mr. Davis for more information on how you can get involved in this outstanding program.  “He is not a good dad because he is a
WATCH DOG.  He is a WATCH DOG because he is a good dad.”
