Concerned Citizen and Life School Stakeholder:

BIG CITY CRUSHED CONCRETE COMPANY is applying for a permit to process concrete removed from demolished buildings and other sources. It is the opinion of Life School Administration and Board members that the concrete crushing plant will threaten the safety and health of persons in close proximity to the plant. Air quality will be affected and the noise of heavy machinery will be disruptive to the learning processes of Life School students. (more…)

Ribbon-cutting Ceremony to Celebrate Life School Cedar Hill

Life School Founder and Chancellor Dr. Tom Wilson has invited Life School parents and constituents to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Life School Cedar Hill campus on Thursday, September 16, 2010, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the new campus located at 129 W. Cedar Hill Campus Tours Available

Life School is pleased to announce the opening of a new campus in Cedar Hill for the 2010-11 school year. The new facility is located at 129 W. Wintergreen Rd. in the beautiful High Pointe subdivision. Life School Director of Facilities Shawn Thomas and his staff have worked diligently over the summer months to ensure the campus is ready for opening day on Monday, August 16th. Life School Cedar Hill will house approximately 300 Kindergarten through third grade students. Tours of the campus will be available beginning Wednesday, July 28th. (more…)

Life School McKinney

Due to the lack of space and feasibility of our Life School McKinney location and inability to find a new host that would meet the needs of our students, Life School McKinney will close at the end of the 2009-2010 school year. In keeping with our district calendar, the last day of school will be on May 27, 2010. Life School McKinney offices will be open until June 11, 2010. Due to these circumstances, students at the McKinney location are being offered the opportunity to transfer to one of the other Life School campuses and the staff will also be given the opportunity to transition to one of these locations. Students, parents and staff, we thank you for making Life School McKinney a success.

LSOC Students Earn Writing Honors

Each year LSOC 8th grade students participate in The Do the Write Thing Texas Challenge: “National Campaign to Stop Violence” writing initiative sponsored by the Dallas County Juvenile Department. The DtWT Texas Challenge is an anti-violence and academic program targeted at middle school students. It provides youth the opportunity to think profoundly about the issues surrounding violence and enables them to express themselves through a nationally recognized forum. (more…)

Red Oak Athletes Advance to Post-Season Competition

The Mustang boys golf team captured the school’s first golf district championship by winning the District 24-A title, played April 7 and 14 at Waco’s Connelly Golf Course. Danny de los Santos took first place and was joined by teammates Zach Hoover, Patrick Wilson, Alec Wilson and Calob Embrey at the Region III-A Tournament played April 19-20 at Piney Woods Golf Club in Nacogdoches. The Mustangs took 5th place out of 15 teams. Zach Hoover becomes Life Red Oak’s first-ever state qualifier and will compete in the State Golf Tournament to be held May 10-11 in Austin. (more…)
