Campus: District Office (Red Oak)
Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000 annually (will be prorated for 2008-09 school year)
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree related accounting/finance; and two to three years related experience and/or training
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of payroll
- Basic understanding of the general ledger
- Experience processing payroll in a school district a plus
- Knowledge of payroll entry and timekeeping software systems a plus
- Knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software a must
- Knowledge of 10-key a must
- Strong organizational skills needed to keep multiple records
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Effective written and oral communication skills
Major Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll in house for approximately 400 employees
- Process bi-weekly timesheets in Legiant
- Keep proof spreadsheets up to date (insurance & earnings)
- Stuff paychecks/direct deposit slips
- Print payroll reports
- Pay taxes
- File quarterly payroll tax returns (941 & TWC)
- Maintain time and attendance records
- Process absentee requests for all bi-weekly employees
- Keep PTO spreadsheet up to date
- Verify campus attendance records match the leave requests in Legiant for monthly employees
- Reconcile payroll liabilities
- Issue liability checks associated with each payroll
- Reconcile monthly liabilities (insurance, 403(b), TRS, etc)
- Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position
