right-life-lion.jpgThe Life School Basketball Program had several players recognized with District honors for the 2007-2008 season. These awards are chosen by the other coaches in District 12-2A. Girls Head Basketball Coach Chad Walker was also chosen as a Co-Coach of the Year. Life School congratulates the Boys and Girls programs on their multiple selections and we look forward to their continued success. Click here for the full story.

Crayton Nicholson has been named to the All-District Basketball Team for District 12-2A. Crayton was the leader on and off the floor for the basketball team this season.. Crayton served as a captain and,  academically, is one of the top students in his class.  He averaged 15 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game and played a key roll in leading the Lions to the playoffs.  Crayton was named First Team All-District by the other coaches in the league.  Head basketball coach Scott Thrush says, “He is an awesome young man and it was a pleasure to coach him and watch him grow these last few years.  I know whatever path he chooses, he will do great things due to his character, strong work ethic, and heart.  Thank you Crayton for all your dedication and hard work here at Life School.”

Matthew Crawley was also named to the All-District 2nd Team for District 12-2A. Life School congratulates Matthew on his accomplishment.

Several Life School Lady Lions received special recognition this past basketball season for their efforts on the floor.  All of the following players were voted by other district coaches to receive the following honors.

Co-Defensive Player of the Year – Nellasha Davis
Freshman of the Year – Chontiquah White
Co - 6th Man – Keierra Brown
1st Team All-District - Patricia Jones, Pauline Perez
2nd Team All-District - Antwenequa Linville-Green
Honorable Mention - Jayna Haggerty

Girls head coach Chad Walker noted, “The leadership of Patricia Jones and Antwenequa Linville-Green on and off the floor will be greatly missed.  Nellasha Davis, Keierra Brown, Chontiquah White, and Pauline Perez are all underclassman who will return to lead their teammates into a new district and deep into the play-offs.  These young women have set the bar high for others to follow and achieve high expectations.  Their hard work, dedication, and desire to be successful will remain in them through high school, past their collegiate years, and place them far ahead in the competitive world.  Leaders are in demand and these young ladies will not shy from challenges, but instead, meet those challenges head-on all the while paving a path for others to follow.”

Head coach Chad Walker was also named a Co-Coach of the Year for the 2007-2008 season. His emphasis on fundamentals and hard work helped the Girls become District Champions in only his second year.

Congratulations to the entire program on a successful year.
