Life School Oak Cliff’s varsity cheerleading team competed at the NCA National Championships this past weekend in Dallas. Although they were the smallest school in the competition, the squad took home top-twenty honors, placing 14th overall.
Coach Kristen Nichols was very impressed with her team’s efforts. “They performed the best I have ever seen them. This competition is the highest level in the cheer world and they met or exceeded all the goals I set for them,” Nichols said.
The team from Hawaii took first place, and Nichols says the experience was well worth all the early morning practices. “They had a great time, and most cheerleaders aren’t able to say they performed at a national level. “
Team members include:
Captain Lauren Phillips, Ka’Jalen Pogue, India Session, Brianna Coats, Chestina Copeland, Danira Garcia, Elle Glatz, Keyarius Johnson, Tyjai King and Jessica Peoples.
