State Senator Visits Life School


031-jpeg.jpgState Senator Florence Shapiro, Chair of the State Education Committee and champion of children and educators, visited Life School Red Oak on Friday, April 4, 2008. The senator interacted with students, staff, and Dr. Tom Wilson, Superintendent, to develop an understanding of the mission, culture, and vision of Life School. After touring the campus, the senator gave input regarding the educational needs statewide and the provision of educational choices for Texas parents and students. Senator Shapiro expressed interest in the opening of Life School McKinney on August 18. As a representative for the Collin County area, Senator Shapiro gave direction about the opening of the first charter school in Collin County. Life School expresses its appreciation to Senator Shapiro for her unwavering commitment to quality education and her public service on behalf of Texas school children.
