The electric atmosphere provided an exciting night of basketball. Oak Cliff fell to state-power Godley 55-36 and Red Oak narrowly lost to Hampton Prep 52-46.

The support of the students, faculty, parents and community is greatly appreciated by both schools.

The winter sports are wrapping up and the spring sports are already underway at both schools.

At Oak Cliff, the Girls Basketball team advanced to the state playoffs again with a 26-win season. The Lady Lions of Oak Cliff fell to last year’s regional-finalist Hico in the bi-district round. The Red Oak Lady Mustangs finished in the district runner-up spot for the second straight year before falling to Saint Jo in the first round.

Oak Cliff Power Lifting had a regional qualifier and the Lions soccer squad is wrapping up another successful season.

The spring sports are underway as Softball, Golf, and Track and Field all prepare for district competition as both schools vie for post-season opportunities. Both school’s Golf and Track programs expect to send teams and individuals to the regional meets again, while Red Oak begins its inaugural Baseball season this year as a Junior Varsity squad.

The University Interscholastic League announced bi-annual district alignments for football and basketball for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years. Oak Cliff Football will compete in District 6-AA Division 1 against Grandview, Palmer, Maypearl, Sunnyvale and Eustace. Red Oak football will compete for the first time at the varsity level in District 6-AA Division II against Edgewood, Lone Oak, Alba-Golden, Corsicana Mildred and Scurry-Rosser. Both schools were aligned in Basketball District 13-AA along with Palmer, Sunnyvale, Scurry-Rosser, Irving North Hills and Dallas Peak.
