The Life School Oak Cliff Spring Fling was a delightful celebration of our talented students! The Fine Arts department entertained the audience with songs that encouraged audience participation and enjoyment, while the band played challenging music that showcased the development of first-year band students.
Responses of laughter and genuine, heartfelt applause demonstrated how much the parents, grandparents, family and friends enjoyed the program. A standing ovation from the audience at the end of the program was a tribute to the hard work and dedication of students and teachers.Students from second, fourth and fifth grades sang songs that showed how to “Mash Potatoes” and “Sing, Speak, Whisper, Shout!” The final song, “Day-O” left the entire audience moving to the rhythm of a classic, familiar tune.
The highlight of the evening was the performance of the Life School Oak Cliff band, under the direction of Mr. Brad Jones. The sixth, seventh and eighth grade students performed wonderful renditions of “First Note” and “Hard Rock Blues.” Although this was the first year for many of the children to ever play an instrument, all in attendance agreed that our new band students gave a fantastic performance!
